St John's Rosary Society

Every woman of the parish is welcome to become a part of an organization which has provided service to St John's for approximately 70 years.  Meetings are scheduled on the first Thursday of the month from September to June.  Come together to pray the rosary at 1:00 PM and enjoy meeting over desserts.  An informational speaker concludes the meeting.  The Rosary Society supports the works of the National Council of Catholic Women on a local, national and international level.

Knights of Columbus

This organization is dedicated to promoting Christian principles, supporting religious, civic and charitable causes and exists to provide mutual aid and assistance to its members and their families.  The basis of their activities endorse Charity, Unity and Fraternity.  Council 447 meets at St John's Church on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:45 PM, beginning with the recitation of the rosary.  This council continues to sponsor the First Squires Club to encourage teenage young men to adopt a Christian lifestyle.  Membership is open to all Catholic men.

Couples Night Out

Whether you are new to the parish or a member of long standing, this evening is planned for you.  Here is an opportunity to leave your children at home and join other couples for a relaxing evening that may include a simple dinner, board games, gym activities, or even a speaker.

Parents Coffee Group

If you're a stay-at-home mom/dad, this group is for you.  The group gathers every couple of weeks during the school year at a different host's house for a couple of hours of conversation and refreshments.  Kids are welcome.  If you're new to the area, this is one of the best ways to meet new people and a great opportunity to get out of the house.  Sign up to get on the call or email list.  You'll be notified when and where each gathering will be as soon as they are scheduled.

Men's Bible Study

A weekly Bible Study for men meets on Thursday mornings at 6:30 AM.  The group uses a study guide to pose questions and promote discussion.  It's informal, but full of discovery about our faith in God and the Church.  You're welcome and encouraged to join the group any time you can.  Check with the Men's Bible Study contact (or call the Parish Office) to find out what passage they will be discussing, or simply show up.  It's a great way to start the day and you'll be glad you got out of bed early.  The sessions take place in the rectory basement and generally last about an hour.  Coffee is always served.

Summer Bible Study

A weekly Bible Study and fellowship for men and women meets on Tuesday mornings throughout the summer.  The materials used are selected with people's flexible Summer schedules in mind.  The group meets near the playground (weather permitting) or in the church basement.  Kids are always welcome.  There is a nominal fee to cover the cost of the materials.

Adult Faith Formation

In addition to the specific groups listed above there are opportunities throughout the year for faith formation activities such as scripture studies, retreats, discussion groups, prayer groups and evenings of reflection.

Holy Innocents Perpetual Adoration Chapel

"Could you not spend one hour with me?"  (Matthew 26:40)  Does Jesus ask too much?  One hour a week at your convenience.  Volunteer to pray for one hour at the Chapel located at St Mary Star of the Sea, 325 E 3rd St in downtown Duluth.  Call 722-0218.
